Truth #4: Making A Plan Takes Time

"After my fiancé and I got engaged, I started making a list of things I thought might be nice to register for, and spent a couple of months working on it casually," says Kerr."For example: when we were cooking dinner and realized that we have a pasta pot that is big enough to serve 30, but not one that works for two or four people, that item went on the list. Or when I went to set the table for a dinner party, and suddenly realized that our linen napkins had seen better days, yup: that went on the list."

"We slowly built the list together, over a few months, so when we sat down and started working on it for real, we were essentially already done," she remarked.
