The Colorful Trend that Could Oust Subway Tile
And you didn't think you were the cheatin' kind.
It's no secret we harbor a deep affection for subway tile in almost any setting. But lately the safety of a sea of white has been feeling a little played out, and our eyes have been wandering. Not just any pigment could uproot such a longstanding love of course, but the latest hues released by Fireclay Tile, an eco-friendly purveyor of recycled glass tile, has us ready for a new (very colorful) commitment.
The California-based company makes 40 original hues, but this batch in particular feels so incredibly on point for spring. Wallflower is a solid match for the season's favorite sky blue trend. (We'd pair it with a saturated kitchen kilim in Turkish red.) The renaissance of "harvest gold" would be perfectly represented by Tulip. And Celery reminds us of the fresh cocktail we'd like to be sipping in the grass (ahem, Serrano) right about now. Do you dare buck the subway tile trend for a little stroll on the wild side?
