Pillow Talk! Pyar & Co.'s Indian-Inspired Designs

Okay... it's settled. I've officially accepted Spring's invitation to embrace bold color. Trusting the advice of my colleagues, I've been on the hunt for a few bright accent pieces as a way to dip my proverbial toe into this palette challenge.

I've had my eye on cushion creator and Chicago native Paula Queen since she launched Pyar & Co. in 2011. While traveling in India with her husband, Queen came up with the brand's big idea: bring the intricate beauty of traditional Indian saris stateside in the form of pillows and throws. This month, Pyar & Co. debuts two new styles; the silver-trimmed Mani, a timely showcase of the May birthstone and Pantone's color of the year, and a graphic purple-and-saffron design named Kaori, which is just begging to brighten my dove gray Bliss Chair.
