The Trend Lonny Editors Want To Stick Around In 2018
The design winners of 2017.
Every year, plenty of trends come and go in the home space. In 2017, we saw some greats (think millennial pink, painted ceilings, and hygge) and not-so-greats (cough, cough... Pantone's Color of the Year). However with 2018 and new trends on the horizon, there are a few popular design ideas that we just aren't ready to give up yet.
After much debate, each Lonny editor chose one home trend that we want to stick around in 2018. Stroll ahead to see our faves.
"Don't get me wrong, I love the crisp look of a white wall (and am even considering repainting parts of my own home white). But, I still go wild over a moody, dark wall. There's just so much personality behind dark hues — and I think when done in the right room or color, can add so much depth to a home." — Angela Tafoya, Managing Editor
"I can't even tell you the number of times this year I have scrolled through images of a home, stopped, and said out loud, 'Oh my god, that tile.' From beautifully painted original designs to cool directional patterns, tile has won a near and dear place in my heart that isn't going away any time soon." — Shelby Wax, Associate Editor
"For me, the reemergence of 1970's furnishings feels like much more than a trend. Walking into a seventies-designed room brings about a very specific energy. It makes me want to turn on 'Can't You See' by Marshall Tucker Band and groove out with friends and family. And that, is my absolute all-time favorite energy." — Megan O'Sullivan, Associate Editor
