Woman meets beautiful towel ring. Woman falls in love. Uh oh, towel ring is a little pricey. So what’s a woman to do? If she’s Laurel Stavros of The Bubbly Life, she DIYs it — and makes a remarkably similar-looking solution, we might add. And you can too.

This modern holder is made with just a wooden dowel and metal ring, plus the use of a drill. It’s quick, easy and inexpensive, and it looks elevated, especially when used to display a pretty tea towel. Laurel explains it takes five minutes to make, and that the biggest expense is around $6, (for the dowel), if you already own a drill or are able to borrow one. See the full tutorial on The Bubbly Life. It’s a true story of love, loss and triumph.
