Food just tastes better when it’s served on something pretty. Instead of adding another pricey cheese board to your collection, make your own beautiful (and economical) version thanks to this DIY by Anusha Rajeswaran of Fish & Bull for Sugar & Cloth.

Although there is some sanding involved, the project calls for no sawing, or even wood for that matter — and not to worry, the material is super lightweight. The most fun part? You can dye the board any color you’d like! The pastel hues shown here are fitting for Labor Day, but you’re free to play with the pigments to suit the season, or just your mood. During the holidays they’d make great gifts, too. Give it a whirl and get your nibble on.
