New Zealand Meets New York at the Musket Room

(Photo courtesy of The Musket Room)What exactly is "modern New Zealand" cuisine? I don't know, but I'm more than willing to find out at a place that looks this good. The Musket Room is a new restaurant in New York City's Nolita neighborhood and the décor is right up my alley: exposed brick, industrial lighting, mid-century modern-style furniture. Just look at that amazing tree trunk of a bar!

The slate-colored scallop detail on the flooring underneath the bar area would look great as a trim in front of your fireplace or in a cozy reading nook—it's an easy, subtle way to add personality to a small space. And the distressed wide-plank wood floor keeps things from getting too precious. What do you think?
