4 Tips On Throwing An Amazing Holiday Party From Studio Table
Taking pointers from the cool S.F. dining concept.
Many consider hosting a perfect dinner party a work of art. So it's no surprise that painter Heather Day can throw a great gathering. The artist is the creative force of Studio Table, a fine dining concept in San Francisco, where she regularly hosts parties complete with a one-of-a-kind meal prepared by a renowned chef, live music, and menus featuring her own works. Along with co-creator Michelle Wei, a product manager at Adobe Photoshop, the pair produce events bringing unique people together for a fun and free evening.
After a recent soirée thrown in Day's studio, we had to ask the Studio Table team for their tips on how to curate an amazing affair. Read ahead to peek into the amazing evening and score some expert advices on how to take your event to the next level.
An Artistic Menu
"Make your menu a takeaway from the night by incorporating artwork, design, or other special touches that give it an object quality," shares Michelle Wei.
"For some, this tends to be an afterthought, but take a stab at re-creating your favorite cocktails from your go-to local bar," suggest Wei. "Or, craft cocktails that focus on the bounty of the holiday season, like citrus (SKYY Infusions Blood Orange is the perfect option). You’ll impress your guests with your creativity!"
"Our favorite cocktails from the night were The Martini — SKYY Vodka infused with pinon pine cone and dry vermouth— and the Orange Julius — SKYY Infusions Blood Orange, oloroso, sugar, and vanilla paste— both created by Nicolas Torres of S.F.-based True Laurel," she shares.
Curate A Tablescape
"The focal point for all great parties! Consider forgoing the traditional floral arrangement and opting for fresh eucalyptus and citruses down the center of the table," advises Wei.
Have Live Music
"If your space allows it, live music performances add that extra bit of sophistication and intimacy to any gathering," shares Wei.
