You know who they are. You've seen them at the playground on weekend mornings, with their artfully rumpled hair and cappuccinos to go; or at the school run, looking crisp and tailored with their loafers and perfectly knotted scarves. What is it about European moms that makes the rest of us feel so schlumpy? Whatever it is, I want in—and with the launch of the new e-commerce site Over the Ocean, it's become that much easier to appropriate this wildly generalizing (yet still somewhat accurate) cultural sensibility.

Founded by Munich expat Birgit Sfat, the San Francisco–based site brings together brands from various European countries—Poland's Wooden Story, Spain's Bobo Choses—to make up a collection of children's clothing, toys, and home accessories with a whimsical-classic charm. (We're mad about the OYOY Nordic Glass Candleholder Square from Denmark, as well as the aptly named Fantasy Cardigan.) Many of the looks are modeled by Sfat's daughter, Milla; you can glimpse more of their enchanted life on Over the Ocean's irresistible Instagram

For those of us (OK, me) with every intention of cribbing the Euro-mom look, the site also provides a primer in the form of its Muses section, a forthcoming series of profiles depicting real women and their everyday inspirations. You can bet I'll be hanging on every word.
