"Since going full time [in 2013], I'm now working on larger-scale, higher-end projects and am producing the kind of work I want to be known for," says designer Nicole Gibbons. This sophisticated townhouse renovation is proof of her evolution. The original crown molding of the parlor-level living room was restored and painted to frame the 14-foot-high ceiling. Gibbons chose an oversize Art Deco–style sunburst chandelier to balance the proportions of the lofty walls and connect the home's historic architecture with its modern furnishings.
