"It's not art as decoration, but as a way of life," says Cécilia Bönström of the 19th-century Paris apartment she shares with her husband, Thierry Gillier, and their four children. Their living room, which was once the music salon of Baron Haussmann, features a work by Jean-Michel Basquiat on the left-hand wall and a piece by Dan Flavin in the adjoining corner.
