Dinner Is Sacred
"The Danes are also very focused on family meals. They believe dinner time is sacred," explains Piazza. "It’s one of the reasons that most offices let their employees out of work by four, or at the latest five, so they can make it home in time for dinner with their families."

"Creating a separate space for the family to enjoy their dinner, free of screens and distractions was an important part of creating contentment for the family. The hygge experts were very strict about having candles on the dinner table and putting away our damn phones,” Piazza said.
