Add Throw Pillows
“Our first hygge-gathering mission took place in Copenhagen’s Østerbro neighborhood, on a search for beautiful things for our home that would fit in my one suitcase," says Piazza. "I discovered a beautiful blond-wood birdcage meant to house the toilet paper in one’s bathroom, a garlic press chicer than all of my shoes, and a set of ikat print pillows that the shop owner promised would make our sad empty living room look amazing — they did."

"We found pillows made from up-cycled denim and rags, pillows made from Tibetan yak wool, and pillows hand sewn in intricate Scandinavian designs. I even found a pillow with a horse wearing a fancy dress. Our living room was completely transformed by the presence of all of these pillows and is now the room we use the most in our house," says Piazza. "They may seem like a little thing, but sometimes little things make all the difference.”
