Katy Skelton shows us how to make a trendy amethyst-encrusted case that's a perfect blend of form and function.
Known for her sleek, handcrafted furniture, Brooklyn-based designer Katy Skelton certainly has an eye for design—DIY or otherwise. "I love all of the agate and gemstone accents that are on the market," she says of the covetable pieces by Kelly Wearstler and Rablabs. "Their organic shapes and jewel tones really add personality to a room." Since those are a little out of her price range, she set out to DIY her very own “jewel box” (exclusively for Lonny) that looks just as good as the inspiration.
