Lonny Lexicon, Lesson Seven: Bachelor's Chest

While visiting the Lillian August showroom at High Point Market this spring, I was clued in on an unfamiliar insider term: bachelor's chest, which is used to describe a smaller dresser with three or four drawers. Here's an example:

The origin of this moniker? Originally, this piece of furniture was deemed the perfect size for a bachelor. Now, it's fair game for anyone—and any room in the house.
