10 questions with Emily Reaman, public relations executive at Susan Becher & Associates.

1. What is your greatest professional accomplishment?

I’ve had so many amazing mentors in my career. I love that I can mentor others and help them recognize their strengths. It’s fulfilling and exciting to watch people you believe in grow.

2. What is your most prized possession?
I think it’s a tie between a collection of my annual birthday poems written by my grandmother and a spectacular seashell I found wedged between the rocks in Laguna Beach.

3. Who is the person who most embodies “style”?
This is someone who radiates confidence and creativity in every means of expression—whatever that may be. I love my friend Ellen’s fun and free-spirited, vintage style that you can only fully appreciate in her Lower East Side boutique, fittingly named Ellen. In a quieter way, my friend Caroline of One Willow Studio illustrates her style with vibrant floral collages and paintings that make me so happy I’ve dedicated a whole wall to my collection of them at home.

4. In what historical period would you most like to have lived?
Probably the '70s because there was such a rich use of color and fantastic prints. I also love platform shoes.

5. What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Long summer days at the beach with family and friends.

6. With what fictional character do you most identify?
Hmmm. Pippi Longstocking comes to mind. I think I share her strong-willed spirit and eclectic sense of style—just without the red braids.

7. Where do you feel most inspired?
Anywhere by the ocean, the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market in San Francisco, and incredible flea markets like Les Puces in Paris!

8. What is the greatest present you've ever received?
A copy of Anne Morrow Lindbergh’s Gift from the Sea with a message inscribed to me from my mom.

9. In your next life, who or what would you most like to be?
A better version of myself with much more confidence and a few superpowers.

10. What are your favorite Manhattan hangouts?
I’m a runner, so changing up my loops helps me see things I might miss and want to check out. Weekends always include a trip to the flower markets in Chelsea, and, when the weather’s nice, it’s always fun to hang out with coffee and friends in Washington Square Park.
