The Creative Growth Home Collection by Erica Tanov
When I saw the images for Erica Tanov's Creative Growth home collection I was floored. The cheery, abstract patterns on these textiles feel like a modern update on vintage Finnish designs. They're the kind of fabrics you'd want in your home during a harsh Scandinavian winter—so what if you live in Brooklyn? Developed in collaboration with Berkeley, California-based artist Emily Payne, the hand-printed textiles are made using wood blocks and screen-printing methods.
While the collection launched this past spring with pillow cases, duvet covers and hand-stitched quilts, brand new items arrived in stores this week. That means placemats, napkins and a shower curtain (all of which feature Payne's colorful, geometric designs) are now ripe for the picking—and perfect for mixing and matching!
