There are moments when we wish we weren't based in New York, just so we could take advantage of its fabulous hotels. The Morgans Hotel Group
, responsible for some of the chicest hotels from the East coast to West, has recently unveiled its debut hotel property in downtown Manhattan: the Mondrian SoHo
. A collaboration with renowned interior designer Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz
, the Mondrian SoHo is bold, visionary and dream-like.
Noriega-Ortiz drew inspiration from Jean Coucteau's 1946 French fantasy film "La Belle et la Bete." With powdery blue walls, feathered chandeliers and floor-to-ceiling windows, the entire space evokes romance, drama and fantasy. This may just be the perfect excuse for a getaway, even if it's only a subway stop away.
