Savoring Summer: Floral Prints and Fresh Scents to Make the Season Last

When it comes to the seasons, I'm not what you would call a "fall person." I've never counted down the days to apple cider weather or relished the task of unearthing my sweater ponchos from the depths of my closet. When my sister invited me—in June—to a secret Pinterest board with an array of exceptional flannel button-ups, fall foliage, and recipes involving cinnamon, I had to decline. I was too busy basking on patios and allowing my hair to air-dry to chime in on her ideas for decorating with gourds.

Even now in September, I'm still celebrating the sun. And why not? Labor Day has come and gone, but it feels very much like summer here in Manhattan. Everyone around me seems disgruntled about the lack of brisk Autumn breezes (they have probably been secretly Fall-pinning, too). For the rest of us—those who will be rocking denim shorts and serving lemonade until the first frost hits—I've tracked down some products and images to help us savor summer while transitioning into the cooler months.

Remember this garden-framed pool in Millerton, NY? The wildflower landscape set the tone for Susannah and Margaret's farm-to-table wedding in our June issue.

This limited edition photograph, titled Costa Rica by Shay Spaniola, lends any room a fresh dose of greenery that won't go out of season.

This 8Knots Orange de Tamanu Soap provides a summery citrus lather all year 'round.

Private Gardens of the Hudson Valley, by Jane Garmey, will be an even more ideal coffee table companion once the leaves fall off the trees. Available October 15th.

Woodland-flora-and-fauna art pieces bring the outdoors in when the weather dictates that your windows stay firmly shut.

And is there anything sunnier than the Yellow Magnolia Glass Tray from Ben's Garden?

How are you savoring the last days of warm weather?
