These Hand-Dyed Linen Totes by Le Renard Are Everything

This post was written by guest contributor Jess Chamberlain, a Seattle-based writer whose love of good design is second only to her passion for environmentally friendly—and locavore— living. Look for her #MadeInAmerica posts all month on our blog.

Out of an innate desire to create something with her hands, Los Angeles-based designer and photographer Sarah Renard uses natural, non-toxic indigo to dye each piece by hand. The 100% linen fabric is dipped multiple times and sun-dried in a garden. (Cue career-change fantasy!)

Each one-of-a-kind Le Renard bag is completed with a suede pocket and natural leather straps, then given a name inspired by the California desert. Notes Sarah: "Each ages with grace to become a better version of itself." Shouldn't we all...
