Since the golden age of the 1980s, San Francisco native Barry McGee has been throwing down on the graffiti art scene. His use of bright colors, caricature-like portraits, and abstract geometric patterns soon came to embody a certain retro West Coast look. Although street art is still a ticketable offense in most communities, McGee brought his inner-city influences into the rarefied gallery world. Check out FOCUS: Barry McGee at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, up until June 2.
