While We Were Out: Paul Kasmin Gallery

On a recent blustery night, we checked into Chelsea's Paul Kasmin Gallery for the opening of the exhibition Deborah Kass: My Elvis +. The sky-lit gallery space, designed by Markus Dochantschi of studioMDA, served as an ideal backdrop for viewing Kass' 1990s series of Barbra Streisand portrait riffs on Andy Warhol.

Spotted mingling at the exhibition opening were performance artist Ryan McNamara,

Art Production Fund founder Yvonne Force Villareal,

and artist Will Ryman of Park Avenue's The Roses acclaim.

Holding court at the opening was the artist Deborah Kass herself.

Can't make it to Paul Kasmin Gallery before the show closes on February 23? A Kass-designed pair of Ed Ruscha-inspired velvet slippers, available for order on the gallery website, makes for a darling memento.
