Dunn-Edwards X Pop Up Greens Will Get Your Plants Ready for 2018
The Color of the Year gets potted.
Ever since Dunn-Edwards released the 2018 Color of the Year "The Green Hour," we have been brainstorming ways of incorporating the gorgeous shade into our homes. Luckily, Pop Up Greens made it super easy for us. The L.A.-based shop specialized in hand-painted pots and plant decor just released a brand new line incorporating Dunn-Edward's trending colors for next year into its designs. To truly show off the beautiful shades, founder Molly Rhymer created three new patterns for the collection.
"Typically, we have only revealed our Trend Colors in the annual Color + Design Trends Report," says Sara McLean, color expert and stylist for Dunn-Edwards. "By incorporating the colors on these beautiful hand-painted pots, we want to inspire people to add new colors into their living space. And, they make great gifts for the holidays."
"When I first saw the Dunn-Edwards 2018 Trend Report, I was immediately drawn to the Natural Wonders Collection," says Rhymer of Pop Up Greens. "I wanted the colors I chose to feel organic and subtle, a color you would normally see in nature that goes well with the green of a plant."
"The colors in the collection play off the pop of color and added texture from nature," she continues. "A brown you would naturally find in leaves or the bark of a tree, a blue you would find in water or the sky. A deeper green hue and contrasting blush-and-yellow tones round out the collection. The designs are pretty simple and minimal and feature neutrals colors that would work in any home." She adds, "I love the contrast the greenery gives to a neutral-painted pot."
The designer's favorite part of the collection? "I like that these colors are interesting enough to stand alone without being too bold and double as neutrals," says Rhymer. "Canyon Dusk is a fun play on millennial pink. I love the Fresh Honeydew because it’s such a subtle yellow with a slight green tint. The Green Hour, which is Dunn-Edwards 2018 Color of the Year, is such a beautiful, rich shade and brings an unexpected and almost mysterious element to any decor."
If you want to get your hands on these pretty pots, we recommend going to check out the stylish collection before 2018 hits.
