The Brand-New Bedding We're Dying To Sleep On
A new collection of soothing and uplifting prints.
"You don’t have to compromise design, quality, and value to produce products responsibly. It’s not about perfection, but striving towards better," explains Rebecca Atwood's company value statement. The Brooklyn-based designer and artist strives to create pieces that complement your space, made with colors and patterns that are lively but also subtle and elegant. What's next for the brand? A brand-new mix and match bedding collection.
The collection is a mix of duvets and shams, coverlets and shams, cotton knit throws, headboard pillows, lumbar pillows, and embroidered heirloom linen pillowcases, along with options of including a variety of sayings (including Early Bird + Night Owl, ZZZ, Good Morning + Good Night, Dream Big + Sleep Well, Mrs. + Mr., Mrs. + Mrs., and Mr. + Mr.). Atwood dreamt — no pun intended — of creating pieces that complete a beautiful bedroom space, where one can rejuvenate and relax.
The pieces are intended to feel personal and inspired. In order to create the collection, the designer explored the places she felt were most soothing, providing a sense of comfort. Often, we think of neutral and solid beddings as the most subtle and calming; however, Atwood noticed a need for patterned pieces that still evoke cozy, sleepy sentiments. The pieces are all made in Portugal, at a vertically integrated Oeka-Tex certified factory. There, they prepare the warps, size the threads for weaving, weave the fabric, wash the fabric,
print the fabric, cut and sew, package them up, and regulate quality control. This process is closely regulated, allowing each piece to be completed ethically and carefully.
