Joanna Gaines Just Launched A New Paint Line, We Flip Out
And there's a color dubbed "Shiplap," of course.
HGTV stars Chip and Joanna Gaines are America’s shiplap-loving sweethearts and it’s easy to understand why. She’s the buckled-down design pro who cemented a nationwide obsession with farmhouse style and he’s the hysterical contractor who is finding the funny in every situation and reno — no matter how dilapidated or run down it may be.
We were lucky enough to visit the Gaines’ hometown of Waco, Texas to see their newest collaboration with Kilz. Magnolia Home by Joanna Gaines offers 25 go-to chalk-style paints (with 150 total for those who want a deeper color dive) for those looking to add that Joanna Gaines touch into their space. Gaines explained she decided on that amount after feeling overwhelmed with her options in traditional paint and hardware stores.
The line boasts colors that feel natural (think mossy greens, grays, eggshell whites, and more) yet statement-making. Overall, she wanted the hues to feel approachable and understandable.
Working with Kilz team, and even involving her kids in the process (they named a color after their adorable goat, One Horn), she landed on a collection that feels personal and tells a story of her life at home with Chip and the kids. In addition to the Magnolia Home by Joanna Gaines line, the duo also worked with Kilz on a line of primer and peel and stick samples. Okay, in case you’re in need of a spring revamp. You’ve just met your match, shiplap style.
