Justina Blakeney, plant aficionado and bohemian design devotee, is taking her Jungalow empire to Pottery Barn Kids. Blakeney just announced her upcoming collaboration, in which she’ll spearhead a collection of bedding, storage, lighting, and small whimsical gifts with the iconic home brand. The interior designer and author is known for her hand-drawn textiles and lively arrangements, which will both be reflected in the collection—think Where the Wild Things Are meets Alice in Wonderland.
In an official statement, Blakeney described her vision: “My style is already wild and whimsical, so working with Pottery Barn Kids to develop my first collections for kids and baby was a natural fit.” As a designer and artist, Justina’s creative background has provided her with the tools to develop her first official collection. Pottery Barn Kids’ heritage and Blakeney’s fresh perspective coincide to create a fun and functional line of children’s furniture. When speaking about working with the brand, Justina stated, “Between their seemingly unlimited resources of talent and expertise, and my penchant for hand-painted patterns and my boho sensibility, the rooms came out feeling imaginative, creative and carefree — and with a spirit of adventure — all things I want for my kid, but also kids everywhere!”
The Justina Blakeney for Pottery Barn Kids collection is scheduled to launch in December 2017 at a handful of Pottery Barn Kids stores and online, just in time for a fresh, colorful upgrade and uplifting holiday gifting.
