Literally thousands of discarded flip flops find their way onto the shore in East Africa and pose a threat to indigenous animals and fragile ecosystems. Ocean Sole's creations empower local artisans to help keep harmful plastics out of the water, thereby reducing the threat to marine life and preserving the natural beauty of the waterways and coastlines.
Ocean Sole's sculptures, as well as chunky bangles and even turtle-shaped door stoppers, are available for sale in the US through The Sarut Group in Brooklyn. They're the perfect pop of rainbow brights on a drab bookshelf. Or, better yet, gift a zoo of them to a color-loving toddler!
