Block Shop Made The Coolest Palm Springs-Inspired Capsule Collection
Just in time for Modernism Week.
If you aren't already obsessed with the sister-run company Block Shop, you definitely should be. These cool ladies have an awesome business based out of Los Angeles and Jaipur that make heirloom textiles that have both a high social benefit and low environmental impact. Plus, the designs are just really pretty. Well for the upcoming Modernism Week, the duo is releasing a brand new capsule collection today for Ace Hotel Shop inspired by the architecture and landscape of Palm Springs.
"We've been guests at Ace Hotel & Swim Club since it opened nearly a decade ago — our favorite place to lounge, swim, and sleep," says Lily Stockman, co-founder of Block Shop. "We designed our first collection of a lightweight organic cotton robe, gossamer-thin pool wrap, and quilted linen throw to compliment a weekend doing just that. Hand-block printed in signature Block Shop patterns, our capsule collection is an ode to the art of lazing poolside in the Palm Springs winter sun."
"We were so taken by the mural that Block Shop painted last year on the Commune Wall at Ace Palm Springs that we immediately looked for deeper ways to foster the collaboration," shares Kelly Sawdon, partner and chief brand officer at Ace Hotel Group. "This capsule collection feels like an extension of the mural — rooted in the California desert and showcasing the sisters' signature geometric shapes — but with tactile pieces you can keep close to you."
While visitors can pick up their own set of these limited-edition textiles on February 16 at the Ace Hotel & Swim Club, you can also skip the trip and pick out your fave online.
