Reese Witherspoon Just Launched a Lifestyle Website, Y'all
America's sweetheart is going actress-entrepreneur, and her Southern-inflected wares are completely chic
On Tuesday, Reese Witherspoon announced she'll be following in the footsteps of Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Alba, and Blake Lively and launching a lifestyle website and e-commerce shop, Draper James. While her forebears have had varying degrees of success—Goop is essentially an empire, while Preserve is, well, it's still going!—Reese's goods are completely covetable and her Southern charm-fueled outlook totally endearing.
The site is named for her grandparents, and based on the sweetly genteel principles of her Nashville, Tennessee, upbringing. "In the South you can never be too kind, too gracious or too well-dressed," she says in her welcome video (check out that perfect chintzy sofa, btw). "This brand...is inspired by my romance, my love for the South combined with the modern woman that I am today." Girl, you know our romance, our love for you runs as deep as a Southerner's pride. So we were especially glad to find that her first round of goods—which she'll be refreshing five times per year—is just as sweet and ladylike as its curator. Shop for gingham thank you cards, monogrammed wicker bags, and matching floral tee-and-short sets. Around these parts even the cocktail napkins have good manners.
