Some of us are just born with natural talent of picking out the perfect gift for loved ones. Others (like me!) wrack their brains for thoughtful ways to express our adoration but usually wind up grabbing something super last minute. I've gifted more gift cards than I can count. And, after so many years, I'm making a vow to be on top of my gift giving this year and surprise and delight my family this Christmas. I think it's all about selecting something that feels special and really lets the other person know you're thinking of their needs and interests.
I've thought about what my friends and family might love and also find useful — without being too extravagant, of course. This year has been a really reflective one for me, along with everything that happened throughout it, it has me thinking of other families and people that might not have the luxury of gift giving (or receiving) is definitely at the top mind. So, really making pensive and somewhat practical decisions is how I approached my shopping.
Below you will find my selection of gifts for my family and friends this year. The gamut ranges from goodies for my husband, little one, pets, mother, and more.
If you're in the thick of your holiday shopping I definitely hope you find this guide useful. Maybe it will help spark some ideas for the people on your list — or maybe something you just might find useful to add to your own collection. Hey, no judgement!
For My Daughter
I've been a fan of the kids brand Oeuf for such a long time — its political messaging combined with the fact its totally eco-friendly and sustainable make it a great addition to my daughters wardrobe. This sweater, which reads Kids For Peace, is one of my favorites from the line — and I am sure it will be Tallie's, too.
Oeuf Kids For Peace Sweater, $100, Oeuf.
For My Bestie
Because what ride-or-die bestie doesn't deserve a new pair of kicks? These suede boots by M.Gemi, the amazing direct-to-consumer shoe line that makes all their shoes in Italy, will complete any winter look and beyond. Plus, you know when you call her up to borrow them she has to say yes — ha!
M. Gemi The Corsa Boot, $348, M. Gemi.
For My Husband
I know DHT blocker shampoo might not be the most romantic gift per se, but damn is it useful. As my husband approaches 40, I'm just watching out and making sure his locks stay silky and bountiful.
Hims DHT Blocker Shampoo, $11, Hims.
For My Mother In Law
My mother-in-law has great style and has just done some major renovations to her home. These smoky candlesticks from Interlude Home are so gorgeous and definitely will set a mood.
Interlude Home Smoke Candlesticks, $720, Interlude Home.
For My Mom
Now my mom won't leave the house without a photo of her granddaughter.
Luna & Stella Victorian Crescent Moon, $375, Luna & Stella.
To know me is to know I am a huge bubbly drinker. When I saw these Champagne earrings I immediately thought — hey, I deserve this, right?
Mignonne Gavigan Champagne Earrings, $425, Mignonne Gavigan.
For My Dogs
Ah, my two little pooches. They've had quite the year and deserve a little doggie self-care. This sleek bed by Wild One will do the trick. Oh, and it won't look hideous in the home? Bonus.
Wild One Dog Bed, $125, Wild One.
