(Photo courtesy of Russell Collection Fine Art)It seems like everything is happening in Austin this month. Sure, the Summer X-Games kick off for the first time tomorrow, and, yeah, maybe Kanye West will be there, fresh from his European nuptials. But we've got loftier interests. While others are watching men's moto x, we'll be heading to the Russell Collection Fine Art Museum, where, for the first time, art enthusiasts will be able to view and purchase paintings by five generations of the Pissarro family, from French Impressionist master Jacob Camille Pissarro to burgeoning artist Lyora Pissarro.
The 65 drawings, pastels, and watercolors will be on exhibit through June 30, and join more than 100 other works that date back to the 1600s in the gallery's permanent collection. An artist’s reception with Lyora Pissarro will take place on Saturday, June 7, from 6-9 p.m. Russell Collection Fine Art, 1137 West 6th St.
