If you haven't tried it before, Taskrabbit is a tech company that allows users to hire from over 60,000 independent contractors to perform services from cleaning to moving to even being a personal assistant. “In a fast-changing retail environment, we continuously strive to develop new and improved products and services to make our customers’ lives a little bit easier," said Ikea chief Jesper Brodin to Recode. "Entering the on-demand, sharing economy enables us to support that. We will be able to learn from TaskRabbit’s digital expertise, while also providing Ikea customers additional ways to access flexible and affordable service solutions to meet the needs of today’s customer.”
The two companies already have a partnership established in the U.K. with fixed pricing for pickup, delivery, and assembly of products. By streamlining the process, buying your entire apartment at IKEA just got a little easier.
