Collab We Love: Sally King Benedict + Chairish
The Atlanta artist goes beyond the brush to share her vintage treasures with the help of one clever e-retailer
We have had an undeniable girl crush on Sally King Benedict since meeting her at an NYC Fat Tuesday fête earlier this year, and weren't the least bit surprised to find the Southern artist to be as lovely and cheerful as the colorful and bold canvases she creates. She's garnered quite the following over the last few years, with her paintings popping up in design magazines and on buzzy blogs. Lucky for her admirers, Benedict has just teamed up with Chairish—an online space for design lovers to buy and sell high-quality vintage furniture, art, decor, and jewelry—to share her aesthetic with the masses.
"My career as an artist has allowed me to travel often and along the way, I have been collecting vintage furniture and eclectic decor for our home as well as for inspiration and research in my art," says Benedict. "This platform allows my clients to not only buy art, but also a piece of my home."
Benedict's online storefront just launched yesterday, and it's everything we hoped for. There you'll find a wide range of her coveted artwork, including a collection of hand-painted lamp shades and ceramics—a new foray for the artist. Sprinkled alongside these original works are Benedict's vintage treasures. Keep an eye out for rattan lacrosse sticks, a bright magenta Native American rug, and a particular pair of Missoni covered Parsons armchairs that have the Lonny office in a chevron-induced tizzy. Check out these one-of-a-kind pieces before it's too late; we have a feeling these finds (especially these precious little guys) are gonna go fast.
