Blu Dot's New Collaboration Is An Art Lover's Dream
The home hub is supporting art for a cause.
One of our favorite resources for modern, Danish-inspired home goods, Blu Dot, is taking their collection to new heights with their latest collaboration. The interiors hub teamed up with LAND Gallery & Studio, a nonprofit day habilitation program supporting artists with developmental disabilities, to offer a new collection of art — and each piece is a perfect pairing with Blu Dot's minimalist pieces.
Together, the gallery and design studio are offering a capsule collection made possible by five LAND artists, featuring rugs, prints, a vase, and a new design for Blu Dot's iconic 'Real Good Chair.' The best part about this special line of work, however, is that shoppers can feel especially good about their purchases, as all proceeds will go towards the gallery and artist support.
So, how did the collab come to fruition? As it turns out, Blu Dot's co-founders, Maurice Blanks and John Christakos, were scrolling on Instagram when they first came across LAND Gallery & Studio (see, Instagram perusing is good for something). In an effort to use their platform to support the gallery, the founders reached out to the team at LAND and traveled to Brooklyn to spend time with the artists, familiarize with the organization, and select works for the collection. The results? A profound, design-minded way to lift up a seriously talented group of artists, and a collection we can't wait to bring home.
