Semaine is Our Favorite New Way to Shop for the Finer Things in Life

Call it a digital mag, call it a concept store: we call it our new weekly addition.

Books, Bubbles & Cakes with Carlos Mota. That's the title of the gorgeously madcap short video that has given birth to our latest online obsession: Semaine. In it, we see the Venezuelan-born interiors stylist set a glorious table, rearrange his bookshelves, cuddle his lap dog, and, yes, nosh on red velvet cake in a bubble bath. Wondering what his top 10 hotels are around the world? Scroll down and the site will tell you. What about his recipe for the perfect paella? That's here too, along with the secret for the perfect party (hint: "the people bring the glamour"). Oh, and just in case you want to bring the Carlos Mota vibe home, you can acquire any number of related goods, from a malachite vase to Stubbs and Wootton flannel slippers. As the site says, "Don't shop the look. Shop the life." Check out the video we can't stop watching below.

Each week, starting on Monday, one global tastemaker gets the Semaine treatment (up next: Charlotte Olympia). The chic personalities hail from the worlds of fashion, art, food, film, etc.—basically everything we're interested in and want to passionately devour. It's like the ultimate magazine come to life in full surround sound. If this is a concept store, we want in.
