Start With A Walk Around S.F.

"It’s maybe unusual to start your road trip with a neighborhood stroll, but I can only recommend you take the time for this one," shares Kamin. "The small surf community far out at Ocean Beach is my neighborhood of the moment. Overlooked by the touristy crowds, Outer Sunset is a little design gem packed with cool, local shops from institutions like the Outerlands, a restaurant famous for their open-faced sandwiches to the General Store and its unmistakable, Insta-famous interior."

"My recommendation: grab a cinnamon toast and coffee from Trouble Coffee, the little hole-in-the-wall shop that started the S.F. toast craze and walk a bit around the neighborhood. Check out 3 Fish Studios for some California art and make a stop at Mollusk Surf Shop to admire the craftsmanship that goes into making surfboards."

"Of course, don’t forget to peak into General Store for locally made jewelry, home goods, books, and a vintage Levi’s collection of your dreams," she adds. "Also, have a look at their backyard for the cutest little greenhouse in all San Francisco."
