Be Too Trendy
“Don’t make too many decisions based on trends,” warns Wallenstein. “You should have what you love, but ask yourself if you think you’ll still be happy in a few years when you start to see the tides turning.”

“I have a lot of clients that come to me a few years after a major project dismayed at the fact that they just don’t love their home anymore,” notes the designer. “It’s one thing when you’re talking about furniture, as it’s easy enough to swap pieces out if you must. But in the event that your kitchen or bathroom renovation feels dated just a few years after a major overhaul, you’re in for an expensive fix.”
