Not Getting A Ballpark Estimate
“Construction often costs more than you think, and homeowners are often surprised,” says Lin. “When there aren’t unlimited funds, it's often worthwhile to get a rough ballpark estimate of your project after a schematic design is complete to save time and design costs. This will save you from completing a design that you love to only find out that you can't afford it!”

She adds, “It'll allow you to make changes to the design or cuts to scope early on so that you end up with a project that's within budget and a complete vision, versus making awkward trade-offs later on during construction.”
