It’s hard to track down Allison Crawford. When we visited her, she was fresh off of a plane from a birthday trip to Paris, and before that an enviable Hawaiian getaway.

The designer and woman behind an interiors firm of the same name, explains that her goal was to visit all seven continents. And she has— a few times over, in some cases. Today, the globe trotter calls Austin, Texas, home, more specifically an 1100-square-foot, two-bedroom pad in the city’s bustling downtown.

After spending nearly two years in a three-bedroom house in the capital city’s family-friendly Tarrytown enclave, the designer and her beloved dog Pierre, were ready for a change. So they downsized, trading neighborhood life for a killer view and good Walk Score. Her now-compact abode, with its sleek urban stylings, provides the perfect backdrop for her impressive, growing collection of travel souvenirs and covetable vintages finds, a signature element in the designer’s colorful portfolio.

Crawford’s apartment masters a chic, collected vibe. And while the interiors are certainly eclectic, expert editing and an allover bright, white palette, gives the home a sense of refuge from the city below.
