"Having said that, OF COURSE our cottage gets layered up with daily life — cups, laundry, wrinkled linens, receipts awaiting scanning, incoming/outgoing mail, and gifts," says Morris. "But I usually remove select items from the frame for certain reasons. For example, I sweep up tumbleweeds of dog hair, because I don’t want to discourage folks from adopting pets. And I take branded bottles off my desk, because I don’t want to advertise for big companies with whom I’m not partnered."

"This mattress arrived for a shoot on the same morning that my nephews came over," she recalls. "I thought it was great for them to lounge and jump on, so I left it there for the day."
