Rebecca Hessel Cohen's fashion line, LoveShackFancy, was born out of necessity: the search for the perfect bridesmaid dress. The effortless, tie-neck maxi she designed for her 2010 Hamptons, New York, nuptials was such a hit with friends that it seemed only natural to bring it to the masses. So she teamed up with longtime friend, photographer Dean Isidro, who introduced his distinctive indigo-dyeing technique to the fabrics—and taught her that the best place to do it is on a beach. In this case, the itinerant duo jetted from Manhattan to the Mexican city of Tulum to put the finishing touches on a new collection.
