Great design has not only shined a light on the Middle East, but it has also played an instrumental role in social and economic development in the region. The Fatima Mint Mohammed Bin Zayed Initiative is a prime example of this incredible work.

Named for its founder, the daughter of the crown prince of Abu Dhabi, the carpet company supports female empowerment by employing over 3000 Afghani artisans with 70% women and 35% widows. Workers are also offered education, health services, and career training to help stimulate the struggling economy.
