Lonny plays a bunch of instruments because he loves it all so much. Wing Chun Kung Fu

I took an early interest in Kung Fu. In the mid 70s, there wasn't a school in South Jersey for this martial art. There was, however, a Karate school in Wildwood which was run by Joe Hess. This was the South Jersey Martial Arts Academy. We studied diligently while also studying and talking about Bruce Lee, who popularized Wing Chun Kung Fu in the US. This has been my passion when it comes to martial arts. In 1995 or thereabouts, my friend Frank Jones told me about a school of which he knew in Brigantine. This changed everything. When I saw what Sifu José Colón (pictured left) was teaching, I immediately exclaimed, "That is what I have been looking for!" (also pictured left to right: Sifu Cliff Cupper, Sihing Brian Jones)

From then forward I had made it part of my lifestyle. We trained 2 days per week until I achieved the application of the first form. This took approximately two years. I continued to train with Sifu José and my fellow kung fu brothers until he moved back to Puerto Rico.

Let's fast forward to the present. I talk to Sifu José as often as I can, and I am updating our website: www.progressivewingchun.com

I hope to one day join with my Sifu again for further training. Meanwhile, my wife and I train as often as we can and I remain available to teach the system in Florida with the guidance of Sifu José Colón.
