Yea or Nay: Taping Stuff on Walls
Are you ready to forgo the frame—the pushpin, even—and enter the era of taped-on decor?
Posters pushpinned in place? Who needs 'em? Framed artwork? Been there, done that. If you're looking to add a little variation to your wall decor, a piece of nature—a branch, dried flower, or feather—and a roll of washi tape might be all you need. After all, why commit to a hole in the wall if you don't have to? Plus, according to MT, the 100-year-old Japanese washi-paper masking tape company, the tape can be easily moved and reused on painted walls without damaging the finish. So, go ahead—tape with reckless abandon. That is, if you're down with this growing trend.
You could go all-out with a temporary installation of similar items, like Sibella Court did with her display of feathers (above), or play it tame with a singular item mixed into a gallery wall, as I did in my recent dining room makeover. But why stop at twigs and feathers? What would you tape to your walls?
