Loving This Right Now: The Pool at Philip Johnson's Glass House

("The Glass House," 2012, by Bonnie Edelman)Fine art photographer Bonnie Edelman just debuted this image that we can't seem to get out of our heads. Called "The Glass House," it's part of a decade-long series by the artist called "SCAPES (Land, Sea, Sky)," which envisions the world in blurs of color rather than individual details. The photograph was shot on site at one of the true icons of modern design: architect Philip Johnson's Glass House in New Canaan, Connecticut.

Here's an excerpt from Edelman's artist statement: "The pool shape was so incredibly unique and so incredibly blue, where the trees were this beautiful fresh deep spring green, which gave the pool a glow of sorts through the contrast. It was one of those moments in life where you have a small soundtrack playing in your head that's singing 'ahhhhh!' in that high-pitched holy tone. One that I will never forget."

See a selection of Edelman's works on exhibit through August 24 at the Heather Gaudio Fine Art gallery in New Canaan.
