Bedroom of our Dreams: Styling Ideas from Sferra

On my long-overdue list of design resolutions for spring: an all-out bedroom makeover. The kind that starts with the sheets and keeps on going. And while I've always been a fan of the luxury linens company Sferra, I'm particularly inspired by the images in their Spring 2014 lookbook: dreamy, European, but with a clean and polished contemporary style.

1. The Neo-Victorian

A symphony of silvery gray tones, accented by warm metallics and champagne shades, elevates this bedside vignette that stars Sferra's Denina Quilt Coverlet (available later this spring). Paired with the small bust on the marble-and-brass side table, the cheeky Victorian-inspired silhouettes add old-world charm in a modern way. 2. The Boudoir Babe
The unabashed romance of the scene above—the upholstered headboard, the lace-trimmed duvet spilling onto the floor—reads feminine without being totally over the top. What brings it down to earth? The elegantly restrained palette of the bedding (Sferra's percale-weave Cornova, part of its spring introductions), embellished with Italian-made lace; the open, undressed windows; and the side table that's remarkably similar to this hand-inlaid bone tile version from West Elm. The showstopper, of course, is the tassel garland suspended from silk rope above the bed. Create a similar effect with the Peach Bellini Tassel version from Etsy boutique (and Lonny fave) Studio Mucci.
