Alexandra D. Foster's Silk Pillows Incite Wanderlust

(Photos courtesy of Alexandra D. Foster)You don't have to board a plane—or turn on a computer, or go to the movies—to soak in the scenery of international locales. In fact, all you need are these colorful silk throw pillows by Alexandra D. Foster.

Barely a week old, the company creates cushions that are hand-sewn in a legendary mill near Italy's Lake Como and are inspired by Foster's travels in a way that's more direct than many other products we've seen. Take, for example her Amalfi collection, pictured above, which resembles the tiled dome of one of the area's iconic churches.
