Throwback Thursday: French History Lesson from Assouline

Assouline's recently released French Style, by Bérénice Vila Baudry, is a stunning 216-page celebration of savoir faire and Parisian design. Revisiting icons of French film, architecture, science, fashion, and cuisine, Baudry explores the history of that "je ne sais quoi" that the world has admired for centuries. Above: a view of Le Deux Plateaux, created by Daniel Buren in 1986 for the courtyard of the Palais-Royal in Paris.
