Often what makes a home unforgettable are the emotions it inspires. Or, as Susanna Salk puts it in the introduction to her seventh title, Decorate Fearlessly!, her favorite rooms evoke "indescribable feelings. Like your heart is in a tango with a delightful stranger; like you have the sudden urge to pick up the phone and call your best friend; like how the thought of leaving fills you with sadness, as though a great novel is ending."When it comes to making decorating decisions, Salk insists we steer clear of the words, "supposed to" (as in 'doing what you're...') and reminds us to be steadfast in filling our homes with what makes us happy, regardless of other's opinions.
The book, on sale now, includes more than 150 photographs and features the projects of over 80 interior designers including Mary McDonald, Jonathan Adler, and Alessandra Branca.
