3 Ways to Decorate Your Front Door For the Holidays

The holidays are fast approaching and it's time to think about what kind of decorative statement you want your home to make for the season. While we can't advise you on how to set any world records (nor do we want to promote stringing your home with upwards of 500,000 lights to do so), we've got three ideas for low-key door decor that will make visitors and passersby feel welcome at your stoop—even if it isn't visible across state lines.

1) Concrete urns overflowing with decorative gourds. Nothing says "harvest bounty" quite like a pile of squash.
2) Dried corncobs. Tied to the front door or to the railings, corncobs are an easy and affordable accent whether you live in a detached home or an apartment complex.
3) Topiaries. As suggested by Heather Pando, dual topiaries astride your front door (see below) make a cheery nod to the season—plus, they're the perfect way to indulge in a little green if your family doesn't celebrate the holidays with a Christmas tree.
